Clouds shrouded
the moon and the dark night deepened. Lisa shivered. “I’m scared,” she said,
clutching her boyfriend’s hand. “What’s that?”
Screams came from
the far side of the field.
“Zombies are over
there.” He pulled her along the corn row. “I’ll get you out of here, trust me.”
She giggled. “My
hero.”
He stopped,
holding her close. “Does a hero deserve a kiss?”
Laughing, she
pushed him away. “Wait. Someone’s coming. Are those torches?”
The lights
appeared out of the darkness illuminating grotesque, bloody faces.
Lisa shrieked, “Zombies!”
Like a true hero,
Brad grabbed her hand and they ran.
